Koopmans Koninklijke Meelfabrieken and sustainable entrepreneurship
Sustainable entrepreneurship in the food sector
Our ingredients originate directly from nature and, consequently, we are of the opinion that we bear a major responsibility for the quality of the environment. As a major producer, our operations inevitably have an environmental impact: nevertheless, Koopmans Koninklijke Meelfabrieken endeavours to minimise the impact of all its operations. For this reason we also comply with all the relevant legislation and regulations, and participate in sectoral agreements within the scope of the MeerJarenAfsprakenZorg ('Long-term agreements on healthcare', MJAZ) projects.
Structural attention to improvements in energy efficiency
Careful consideration of our energy consumption is integrated in our operations. We monitor energy flows, plan measures on the basis of the Alara principle (= as low as reasonably achievable) and carry out periodic evaluations of the results - all elements of our structural attention to improvements in energy efficiency. Self-evidently, our staff play an active role in the achievement of our sustainable-entrepreneurship goals. |
